Radiology Coverage Without a Radiologist on Site
Many hospitals and diagnostic centers, especially outside the major cities, cannot keep a radiologist on site around the clock. Pacslink cloud teleradiology routes studies over encrypted connections to radiologists elsewhere, who read them in a zero-footprint web DICOM viewer and sign the report remotely.
Routing rules send each study to the right radiologist or reporting group by site, modality or time of day, and the finalised report is delivered back to the hospital, the RIS and the referring doctor, without anyone carrying films or CDs.
Key Capabilities
- Encrypted DICOM routing: Studies travel from your modality or PACS to the reporting radiologist over an encrypted connection.
- Rule-based routing: Send studies to the right radiologist or group by site, modality or time of day.
- Zero-footprint web viewer: Radiologists read in the browser with no software to install, from any authorised location.
- Remote reporting: Reports are written and signed remotely and returned to the hospital, RIS and referring doctor.
- 24/7 coverage: Night, weekend and emergency studies get reported without an on-site radiologist.
- Multi-site networks: Connect district hospitals and branches to a central reporting hub on one platform.
How Cloud Teleradiology Works
- Scan: The study is acquired at the hospital or diagnostic center.
- Route: The DICOM router sends it, encrypted, to the assigned radiologist by your rules.
- Read: The radiologist reads in the zero-footprint web DICOM viewer and signs the report.
- Return: The report is delivered back to the hospital, RIS and referring doctor.
Standards & Integration
- DICOM 3.0: Studies are routed in their original DICOM 3.0 format and read in the zero-footprint web DICOM viewer.
- Bi-directional HL7 (Orders In, Signed Reports Out): Patient and order details travel with each study, and signed reports return to your RIS and HMIS over HL7.
