Every Study, in Any Authorised Browser
The Pacslink DICOM viewer is the zero-footprint web viewer built into Pacslink PACS. Radiologists and referring doctors open studies straight from a web browser: there is no software to install or update on each workstation, so a new reading room or a radiologist working from another city is ready as soon as they have an account.
It opens DICOM 3.0 studies from CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and mammography modalities, and works with the RIS and HMIS over HL7, so the study a radiologist reads and the report they sign stay on the same patient record.
Key Capabilities
- Zero-footprint: Runs in the web browser with no installation, plug-in or local image copies on the workstation.
- Multi-modality: CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and mammography studies from any DICOM-compliant modality.
- Diagnostic reading: Radiologists read studies from the worklist in the hospital reading room.
- Teleradiology reporting: Remote radiologists read from any authorised location, with studies routed over encrypted connections.
- Linked to RIS & HMIS: Studies open against the right order, and signed reports return to the patient record over HL7.
- Secure access: Individual accounts, role-based access, HTTPS and audit trails of who viewed each study.
How the Online DICOM Viewer Works
- Sign in: The radiologist or doctor signs in from a web browser, in the hospital or remotely.
- Select: They pick the study from their worklist or the patient record.
- Read: The DICOM study opens in the browser, with no software installed.
- Report: The signed report is saved in the RIS and returned to the patient record over HL7.
Standards & Integration
- DICOM 3.0: Opens DICOM 3.0 studies natively, as stored in Pacslink PACS, from any DICOM-compliant modality.
- Bi-directional HL7 (Orders In, Signed Reports Out): Orders arrive from your HMIS through the RIS over HL7, and the signed report goes back to the patient record.
The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) licenses healthcare establishments, not software: Pacslink features support the records a facility keeps for its licence.
